Conair’s Sound Therapy & Relaxation Clock Radio, SU7 model, which is defined as “Baby Soft” is deceptively packaged child is still identical in their selection of makeup to his cousin more expensive on the market for adults: The Obus Forme Sound System sophrology (which sells for almost double the features without great person). In what appears to be a marketing mix-up, the children’s version of the Conair brand offers a dual alarm, AM / FM tuner and an LCD display, while the model marketed to adults has no watch, no tuner radio and no alarm. Go figure.

The good: ten sound options, including rain, rivers, waterfalls, birds singing, heartbeat, white noise, ocean waves, the night summer storms and tropical forests. What sets this apart from other clock radios that use batteries to store the alarm clock and it’s completely functional on four AA batteries (although the AC adapter included).

Another strength: This unit has a good AM / FM radio reception – better than a series of HoMedics, I have also tried.
< , br /> Even better, the unit was fairly easy to use that I do not leave the manual to understand. It should be noted, however, that implementation of the alarm is a bit different then other clock radio. Repeat provides an extension of 10 minutes, but you can not hit more than three times without setting off the alarm. To activate an alarm, simply press the alarm button or your choice of radio button or the sound of treatment, which is placed to the right and left of the big round snooze button. (Fortunately, the rest of the buttons on the surface will not lead off the alarm accidentally.) To complement the feature set is the function of sleep, ranging 15-90 minutes. Last but not least, have the option to wake to radio, nature sounds or buzzer. There is a headphone jack, but not in line for connecting an MP3 player or CD.

The only significant negative is only Conair SU7 blue backlight. Under certain angles and distance, is difficult to see black numbers on LCD clock. I do not know in how “high” world of consumer product development decided it was great to have almost all digital clocks now illuminated by a light blue or orange, instead of providing high-contrast green, blue or red indicators dark figure, but product designers are forced to watch at night, as the light emitted by their products to try to read your ill-conceived black LCD digits in a dark room – no easy task, even for someone who has 20 / 20 Vision!

As for the quality of sound, above the threshold would HoMedics natural sound – although you should not expect to compete with CD-quality audio. The sounds are the clearest evidence yet that HoMedics and more varied than those offered by the machine sounds of nature, Timex, but are most acute. In contrast, models of HoMedics provide some relatively low-pitched sounds, which are more akin to white noise. Therefore, it should be noted that under the independent nature of the sounds are probably easier to sleep only because the circuit is less clear when the soundstage is a bit dull and flat (the speakerphone is poor as appropriate). Moreover, the nature HoMedics sound generation are not as pleasing to the ear during the day. To create an oasis of days, Conair gets my vote because the sound samples are a bit more realistic (not to mention the fact that Conair offers several sound more natural in the sub $ 60 price range). Sleepless, however, consider the tried and true option of operating an air purifier, which is good all year white noise generator (which cool as a fan or air conditioner running through the winter, roasted like a forced air heater in the summer, prematurely wear out your TV or the unity of its power as a running clothes dryer). Similarly, audiophiles should look for in a CD for a real character, not a loop, stereo quality sound. (Note “Echoes of Nature”, a set of five CDs are also sold at Amazon. The great advantage of this package is the fact that there are no recordings of New Age mixed in damage to the desert environment, outdoor /.)

not readable LCD clock, later, the price of Conair SU7 compared to the number of options and the portability offered by the battery or the operation actually can not be beaten. Do not let the mothers and children or packaging of the product description on Amazon deceived: There is nothing intrinsically “baby” in the design of this device. Because this product appears to be an element of “baby” is not located in the babies section of most stores like Target, is apparently a slow seller, which may explain why I found mine on mine half the list price of $ 20. If you have recently been released after considering the $ 40 Obus Forme Sound Therapy Relaxation System, enjoy a marketing mistake and collect SU7 Conair. $ 20 is a bargain, but $ 10 is a steal!

  2. Steve says:

This product is a combination alarm clock / radio / stereo. The watch and a good job on the radio, but the noise (white noise and many sounds of nature) are digital samples of a few seconds long that are repeated over and over again. Thus, white noise sounds like a repeat 6-10s loop, and can not recommend this product for this purpose. I must reject this baby monitor because of repeated noise makes me mad!

  3. NC mom says:

This watch would be perfect if not for the bright blue background on the clock. She has a controller button, but it’s not really much to reduce glare. Other than that, has a variety of sounds to choose from, including digital radio, the counters are so easy to use, and the volume control is perfect. I bought this watch for me, but finally I got in my old room a year. The clock functions as a blue night-Lite which is pleasing to him at night.

Better yet, the unit was fairly easy to use that I do not leave the manual to understand. It should be noted, however, that implementation of the alarm is somewhat different then other clock radio. Repeat provides an extension of 10 minutes, but you can not hit more than three times without setting off the alarm. To activate an alarm, simply press the alarm button or your choice of radio button or the sound processing, which is placed to the right and left of the big round snooze button. (Fortunately, the rest of the buttons on the surface will not lead off the alarm accidentally.) To complement the feature set is the function of sleep, ranging 15-90 minutes. Last but not least, have the option to wake to radio, nature sounds or buzzer. There is a headphone jack, but not online to connect an MP3 player or CD.

The bad: For one, it seems that the nature of sound only “unit that lets you get up with the default value is” stream. Another major problem is the blue backlight. Under certain angles and distance, is difficult to see black numbers on LCD clock. I do not know who in the manic world of consumer electronics, decided it was great to have almost all digital clocks now illuminated by a light blue or orange, instead of providing high green contrast, blue or red on black screen appears, but product designers are forced to watch at night, as the light emitted by their products to try to read your ill-conceived black LCD digits in a dark room – no easy task, even for someone who has a vision of 20 / 20! Finally, there is a tendency for some control buttons pressure to demand more active than others – even if all the work and seems solidly built differently.

The sound quality is also a strong point in comparing prices as competitors like the HoMedics Sound Spa Classic SS-4000. For a single speaker, Conair has done a good closure for stereo listening. Accordingly, I would put it just above the threshold of natural resources HoMedics sounds. While sampling the sound are SU7 HoMedics clearer and more varied than those offered by the machine sounds of nature, Timex, are also more acute. In addition, certain sounds, “songbirds, are misleading, because some water healthy competition for attention in the foreground. Other songs, like” Thunder “have a cycle during which some users may find annoying. Similarly , the “forest” has a cute pair of birds in the context that may be visible at higher volumes. (If the closure is likely to annoy, a better option would be an air purifier for the white noise at night, or value for money “Echoes of Nature”, five albums, free music collection of Nature CD also available on Amazon.)

Homedics “Sound Spa” models, to Unlike non-distinctive SU7 Conair provide relatively low-pitched sounds that are closer to white noise. Otherwise, this may not sound nuisance, which seems at first “listen.” distinctive sounds less amenable to Lack of sleep – if only because the circuit is less clear when the soundstage is a bit dull and flat (the speaker quality is poor, as appropriate). By the same token, however, the nature of sound HoMedics generators are not so pleasant to the ears during the day. To create an oasis of days, Conair gets my vote because the sound samples are a bit more realistic (or the speaker is better, as appropriate). SU7 is the best value given its AM / FM and a double feature, which is absent from the stripped Obus Forme, a similar model marketed to adults.

poorly legible LCD clock later, the price of The Conair SU7 compared to the number of options and the portability offered by the battery or the operation can not actually be equal. Do not let the mothers and children or packaging of the product description on Amazon deceived: There is nothing intrinsically “baby” in the design of this device. Because this product appears to be a child who is not in the baby section of most stores like Target, is apparently a slow seller, which may explain why I found mine on the removal of half the list price $ 20. If you have recently been released after considering the $ 40 Obus Forme Sound Therapy Relaxation System, enjoy a marketing mistake and collect SU7 Conair. In $ 20 is a bargain, but $ 10 is a steal!

  5. This was a must have! Initially, he had been using his “character” device in the cradle of our baby. However, these sounds off automatically after about 7 minutes, and the baby should begin to move until they turned away. After several nights of waking up every 7 minutes, purchased this product.

There are many choices of sounds.

; There is a volume control. Some have said that the volume is not loud enough – it has not been a problem for me as I have found that the highest volume setting is too high – espeically white noise.

can be maintained constantly in the sounds or use a timer. The timer has 15-minute intervals with a maximum of 90 minutes.

There is a battery option or choice of outlet.

Some have complained about the time of the light blue screen. The brightness does not bother me, although a bit difficult to actually read the time – but I can see – but not as clearly as I can see is longer than the alarm clock. A negative point is that the clock is not intuitive. However, the guidelines set by accident, so I can not say if it is easier to use if you actually read the manual.

Another advantage is that since the use of this (its in our room while the child is still in his crib for a bed), our dog was not awake barking at every sound as it did before – which I attribute to the engine noise drowned many external noises.
